Country: USA (Michigan)
Scope of the collection: 90 boards approximatelly, boards, mags, rig components, sails, things of interest, related art ….

Story / collector´s background:
I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our family house sat on top of a sand dune and overlooked the lake. I taught myself to windsurf by trial and error in 1980 on a Bic Dufour.
Since the early 80’s, I collected every issue of Windrider, Sailboard Magazine, Windsurfing, American Windsurfer, Force 10, Windsport, etc. and every movie I could get my hands on.
In 1987 I began teaching windsurfing and I did that for about 3 years.
In 2008-ish, I started collecting more seriously. Boards, fins, sail, unique components, etc.
From about 2008 to 2015, I searched the San Francisco Bay area for vintage and unique windsurfing gear. My goal was the create a museum.

3 boards I picked up of off Craigslist. The Hi-Tech can opener is pretty cool.

This is one of my favorite boards. I didn’t even know Lopez made sailboards. And then to find an unridden one?!? I was amazed. I bought it from a guy that lived near Solvang, California.

P.S. I don’t have 90 boards any more. Here are photos of /some/ boards I sold …

P.P.S. …. back in the late 80’s when I taught windsurfing for a living. The nickname given to me by my boss was “Duker”….
